My first impressions and expectations of the university classes

My first impressions and expectations of the university classes

I found it relatively easy to decide which university to go. As good as a course might be, I think it is equally important to live in a town or a city which you can relate to. Although I was born in Andijan I decided to study in Tashkent.
Fast-forward to September, it is this time of the year where new undergraduate students move into a new environment and advance into the next chapter of their life. This place is called university in which higher education are being told. Just like these students, I have also got a place in UzSWLU does that mean my new chapter will begin too? Will I be able to settle in well in this new environment? The main reason for going to university is to get an academic qualification, but personally, I think that the social side of things and developing as a person are equally important. The good thing about university life is that you are left to your own devices, unlike school, where you're told what to do and how to do it. It's important to socialise and meet new friends. lt takes some people longer than others. If a student has any problems, about anything, there's student counselling available at all universities, where they try and help out as much as possible.
I came to the UzSWLU on the 15th of  September 2018 .  At the end of the week I also got my student card which officially makes me part of the university. However, during the first week I felt out of placed because I have actually never stayed in another city by myself. I believe other students who joined the university the same time as me will feel the same, because everyone wants to be at home with their parents or just be in a familiar place that they have always been living in. Unfortunately, being independent is simply a process of life that everyone has to adapt to which is why you will eventually be out there somewhere by yourself and doing something that you wanted to do for the rest of your life.
Also,I was nervous going to my first course briefings as I didn’t have friends on my course (which is Philosophy) yet. When I turned up though, I sat myself down with a bunch of lovely people who I found myself next to. One of them turned out to be my closest friend in uni to this day. I guess I was lucky to make such good friends so quickly; but there’s simply so many people around you it’s hard NOT to make friends!
My first impressions of my course were really positive – I’m lucky that I genuinely love my course, so I really enjoyed my studies in first year.
